I don't think I'm excited about anyone. Recent headmins have disappointed me since they seem to have a combination of burning out/just not being able to make the hard calls.
Alot of people running just seem to be naive too which doesn't help. Im not even sure who I want to win.

My experience over my terms was definitely that it was mostly paperwork, I'm guessing you probably just remember the shitty stuff you have to deal with cause its what you remember more. Its more stressful and more demanding for sure, but in the end its less work than paperwork stuff. Though I guess it depends on how define "mostly", in terms of literal time or the stress it puts on you.

Interesting comment. Do you have any examples when headmins didn’t make the “hard calls”?

I can't actually talk about any of it which kind of sucks for giving you actual info. Basically I don't like seeing headmins either not do alot with a decision which amounts more to "fluff" and "we adressed this :)" OR avoid making decisions because those decisions create conflict or get people upset at them. Part of your job involved making those decisions and if you aren't willing to do it you shouldn't be a headmin in my opinion.

My headmin votes always revolve around picking people who I think have good character and willing to do unpopular things if they think its the right and smart thing to do. THAT BEING SAID I DID VOTE FOR NERVERE THAT ONE TIME, WHICH WAS IN RETROSPECT A BAD IDEA.

The naivety aspect is definitely something you can get a feel for with specific runners every election. Not trying to dissuade people, but I really implore that people consider the bigger picture and ask themselves if they would be able to be reliable and have the integrity to step up and do what needs to be done. People can certainly talk and then fold when it matters most. It happens.

I can very much understand not wanting to set fires making hard decisions (I don't like fanning flames either), but having the persuasiveness to mitigate those hard decisions isn't exactly a born trait. We can all get better at it, and even be great at it. Being tactful and diplomatic only makes making those hard calls easier.

There is a reason I brought up what headmins do in prior elections, and I was glad to see MSO take that and add it as a recurring topic for elections. I'm just not interested in peoples pet projects (Realistically what is stopping people from making their pet projects happen without being headmin), what I am interested in is if they can do the things in this thread with a sense of integrity and reliability: viewtopic.php?f=38&t=28546

That includes making the hard calls.

All headmin candidates:

- Chose to be an admin!
- Chose to be a headmin candidate!

Can we really trust their judgement?
