Russians having more of a presence
the Russians are not seen period. The only presence they have is the aftermath of the derelict, ordering their surplus from cargo, and finding dead russians in space. All in all, this is nothing, just straight nothing, maybe a dead role or two(like a comms agent but wants to be rescued intead of just being a shitter or something), or an antaganist(or a reskinned traitor/nukie), would be good enough.

Re: Russians having more of a presence
Derelict station being used by a base by some antagonist harassing the station so the station has to blow it up or at least put down the threat would be a better use of existing resources.
A few low hanging fruit would be using it as another form of AI Sattelite. If the malf timer is over halfway done, and their core is destroyed, a big message in the chat announces to everyone they have shunted to Mining or Derelict, their progress is reset as their life is spared, and the crew has to go out of there way to blow up the AI and make sure it is put down permanently.
Having a deep space cult or heretic spawn with a space suit on the derelict, and take advantage of teleport capabilities through runes to build up derelict before the station goes on to exterminate the culties.
Last would be a weapons platform Think ARCHIMEDES 2, with a lucky antagonist having access to Euclid's C-Finder so they can fire upon the station. Bluespace Artillery but with a Russian, nuclear, bent. No reason to disarm it normally, but if it starts firing on the station it can become priority 1

Re: Russians having more of a presence
I've always found Russian USSR references very cool in-game, this would be neat
