i bid them the best luck with their adhd- that is, if they're not lying for the appeal (and sorry if you're not lying). adhd is a fucking monster. my first thought is that it's something else but i remember some other adhd folks who would just constantly be bouncing off the walls. i don't know. im not here to psychoanalyze i just think the discussion of adhd is interesting.

It's admittedly a little different for everyone. Adderall makes me feel like Spongebob in that one episode where he sanded his corners off.

When I used to be on it, it kinda just...dulled me. It's been a long time since I stopped taking it, but my memory of those times is that I just had a lot less personality. I just kinda...existed.

Could be the stuff just wasn't for me, bad dosages, or I'm entirely misremembering, who knows, it's been over a decade at this point.

I was told that I was misbehaving, was a problem child and and had to sit down and concentrate or I'd fail school.

I failed school, got life experience working for a few years, learned to overcome and then actually apply my mental health problems for my own empowerment, went to university and got a 1st class bachlors degree and a masters degree with distinction.

I've been diagnosed as an adult, but have refused medication.

Nobody ever allowed me to use it as an excuse in my life, so by the time I knew I had any mental health problems I'd already developed the life skills to survive and potentially even thrive with them.

I still suck at social interactions, but I learned how to navigate through them in life and constantly challenge myself so I never get into a comfort zone where bad traits can flourish again.
