Link your byond account: linkbyondaccount.php Please allow it to connect you to the "Game" server, this is required for the linking.

As an alternative you can now link your byond account to your forum account from in game using the link forum account button in the ooc tab.

You can now link your byond account your forum account.
You will be unable to post until you do this. You can still send PMs. There is plans to restrict that to just pms to administrators (Note: You can post ban appeals)

At the moment this does nothing else other then display your username next to your posts (this replaces the old byond username field in your profile that you could edit with one that can be trusted to not be spoofed.) but plans are to do things like setting up a way for users to see their bans and who issued them (since you can't for job bans) and other things admins can see in the ban db, the old book club library management, etc. And all of this will require a validated account.

Its simple, just click this link: linkbyondaccount.php

It uses a webclient to figure out your byond account information and reports back to a script. When you get brought back to your user info page, you will be ready to go.

It takes 60 seconds, and is super easy. You click one link, click another, give byond your username and password, and let the web client redirect you around so that your cookies do all the talking after that.

Also it didn't work for me.

Alright, lets start with error messages, or what happened (explain step by step what you did and where things took you).

Also, did you read the troubleshooting guide on that first page. did you maybe click out, close the tab, or stop before being brought back to this thread. Do you have an alt account on the forums that could have gotten registered instead?

Don't like the idea of this just because you should be able to post somewhat anonymously on here.

Just because Singulo exists doesn't mean that people want to have people know the relation between their account on the game, and their forum name.

Why? This isnt a image board, this is a forum for a server for a particular game. What's the use in anonymity? Why would you not want a link between the game you play and the infomation/policy/changing of said game?

I'm only concerned with the potential that adding extra steps to the signup regime will

A) be a source of bugs that are difficult to report, since people can only use irc/email

B) Drive people away from the FNR forums to the irc support channel, which means we lose a good source of previous historical admin decisions which can inform policy discussion

They will still be able to make accounts and pm admins, in fact, the first part of the process has multiple links to report bugs to me via forum pm.

And, this will be done via forum user groups, so it will be easy as fuck to just exempt certain subforums.

You know what, if you are going to raise a concern, before you do, go and re-link your account. Nothing stops you from doing it multiple times for shits and giggles.

Its been two months, i've been tweaking how it works in that time.

I'd have thought linked accounts would make FNR/Appeals faster, if I joined a forum to appeal or request a decision I'd be fairly pleased to see a request to link my BYOND account as it provides validity and would make it easier for admins to verify what I am saying.

thats a web client, its a web version of byond/dream seeker, you have to wait until it connects you to my server so it can validate you.

When its finished, you will get brought back to this thread, so wait until that happens

You can now link forum accounts from in game. In the ooc tab click "link forum account".
