Fire takes too long to disable the target- and more importantly, too easy to counter. There are plenty of fire suits on the station, and cargo can get more for cheap. And would also mean that if one equipped the item, picked up another instance of the item, then dropped that item, you might have issues. That could be avoided with some checks tho. The tox damage would be doable for melee attacks, but it would be costly and indirect attacks or projectiles would still bypass it.

The immediate context is that I want to create an exosuit that will let the wearer ventcrawl, and ventcrawler is a var now.

There are a lot of broader applications though.

Newcult win rate is pretty poor from what I've seen.
Blood Boil was fine for literally years- cults have just learned to stop ramboing and have to actually work together. This is in fact a GOOD thing.

1- I believe so. Holocarp are a child of carp AFAIK, and it checks for istype(carp). It might not work on laser-carp though, as I haven't looked at the code for them.

3. It'd be nice. Maybe a stick with a blob of purple stuff on the end?
