Well, we would have to balance it pretty hard. And some things (say, bluespace beakers) would need to be placed into more populated trees, or they would never get researched by non-tators.

I don't think its possible to recontain a loose singularity. A tesla ball on the other hand is possible, considering it doesn't destroy the containment pen. I think you can BoH it, and if you get it to stage one you could theoretically build second containment around it. WHY would you want to do it...

And you couldn't Law 2 AI into doing anything to it, since killing it relases harm. Hell, even ordering it to stop one killing humans on the basis of Law 1 is a gray area. Still, a neat idea. Or this is all just a (or the) Matrix NT set up to test loyalty/robustness of their subjects. They even sometimes run you as a syndicate spy/wizard/etc, to test how quickly you adapt to new skills/goals and so that you know how they think and how to beat them.
