Re: Pet Peeves Thread - Little things that REALLY annoy you

People who don't know their nautical directions.

"Aft Starboard solars? Where are those again?"

Granted, I'm a sailor.

Re: Events...

To match up with the coming of summer, have a solar flare approach the station and give the crew a few minutes to get into protected areas before massive fires erupt everywhere. Oh god yes FTL inspiration ++++++ all my money. Make it a come from a certain direction (Starboard/Port/Aft/Fore) which w...

Re: Events...

How about a "Plasma Cloud" event? The station's orbit takes it through a pressurised cloud of plasma gas. Space tiles become >101kPa plasma, spilling into the station through open airlocks or hull breaches. After a few minutes, the station exits the plasma cloud and things return to normal...

This is why the holodeck needs to be in a more central location. (Although I'd prefer if the BURN mode was removed, it's just silly OP).

Re: Fast Atmos Compatibility

I ran around the station the other day with a fireaxe smashing windows on the station. The central halls were all devoid of air by the end of the round. I don't think breaking a few windows in south arrivals should cause the whole west arm of the station to turn to vacuum. A "solution" to ...

Re: AI Feedback: Constructive Edition

That's the point, though. The imperfection of Asimov is one of the key factors in making the AI interesting. If we simplify the lawset, all we do is further promote validstation13 (where either the AI becomes an unambiguous validhunter), or some non-involvement lawset (to make it a more-glorified do...

Make emagging a drone flip the drone's 3rd law. It still can't interact with entities, but it is instructed to deconstruct the station.

Re: Administration General Feedback

Late night low-pop rounds (~20 players) can go for hours and almost always only ever feature traitors and changelings. I'd really appreciate if we could have admins pushing more buttons (or custom rounds/events) during these time slots. As it stands, there ought be more game modes for low pop times....

Re: Good Things To Port

TBH I like the walls. Anything that stops the station from looking like a 32*32 tileset is a big + in my eyes.

Also resprite floor tiles/plating/girders plz. Maybe I should do that, but I suck at tilesets :(

You would have liked the old Malf-AI satellite. It was a notorious gauntlet of death and misery which claimed many men, often populated with well over 50 bolted and shocked airlocks.

Target body parts (for all interactions) based on where you actually click the opposing mob. If you're shooting a gun and want a well aimed :revolver: shot or trying to KO someone with an e-sword :toysword: slash, then you click on their mob icon in the appropriate location to land your hit appropri...

Re: Mapping Philosophy

I agree there are certainly issues around limitation of hard-coded ID accesses. Surely a new map would qualify for map-based configuration of IDs, though? I'm going to nerd out here for a bit and get all engineering-like on this map design stuff, so this is less philosophical than your thread might ...

Re: Give Silicons a Particle Accelerator warning alarm

The sprite states for the PA power are stinking obvious as it stands. But the main issue around singularity release is less the PA, and more the failure of emitters/generators from power loss, either as the collectors run out of plasma, or the SMES/collectors not being setup correctly in the first p...

Re: Mapping Philosophy

WJ you and some interested mappers need to see about making a modular station that is populated based on the number of players in the previous round, or somehow re-arranges itself at start-30s based on the number of readied players. The modular station concept would be a great starting point. Altern...
