That sounds neat, but the skellys themselves don't really have anything to do with the rest of the idea, which seems like a waste of a perfectly good theme

Turn telescience into a cult ritual, where a rune in the middle is the telepad, nearby runes take offerings to be used as fuel, and an assortment of randomized symbols in the 3x3 space around the main rune are the coordinates

This is a great idea only so long as the new items include more potions and psuedo-magic, because those are awesome Could also rope botany into it, with unique and/or dangerous plantlife growing only when in ash plots and exposed to heat, would be like how regular R&D already depends on mining, ...

Give devils a "blank" contract that takes a soul but doesn't actually give anything in return, so they can instead offer items and services they already have in return for the soul, like being a demon lawyer or something If it's never going to be in rotation, it might as well have options ...
