Re: engineering needs more shit to do
The 'hadron collider' idea is honestly the best. It kills two greyshirts with one stone. 1) Engineers need validation for the 235834598kW of power they can generate 2) R&D doesn't need any outside help for anything except minerals R&D still needs a general overhaul, but this would be a great...

I feel we're throwing our heads into the wall here.
It seems clearly obvious that ops have way too much shit to play with at lowpop, where as it's fine/they get fucked on high pop.
The gun change gave ops a flat 50tc boost, which only increased this problem.

Re: Utter lack of AI
Most of the problems with the AI role aren't because of the laws and abilities it has, though? Even though that yes, the game has been designed and balanced around the mere existence of an AI and the assumption that it pays attention and is pretty much validhunter extreme just like everything else....

I was one of the ops, we still got a major victory. Sure, I got beaten to a bloody pulp by a possessed nuke, but we still gut muh green text, and basically all the crew were dead. Amnestik's suggest is more practical - being able to avoid the tell simply by jumping to the player then tracking manually would be dumb.
Being able to tell if the AI (or someone on a sec console) is looking through a certain camera at all is much more straight forwards.

As far as I have always maintained, and as far as I understand of Orange, the intention of this experiment was never to remove the AI from the server. It's to remove it from the server temporarily, to highlight just how much of an effect it has on the round, and how severely it cockblocks antags. If...

It's easier (and more subtle) to take down a satallite AI though? If you try to take down the old location AI, it's easy for the crew to stop you.
It's really only 'easier' if it's to take down a rogue AI, as the crew has ease of access.

But that's not the issue most of the time.
The issue is the lawset OBLIGATES the AI to cockblock antags as hard as possible, even if they've commited no harm or have any intention to do so. This is a viewpoint that is carried by admins and headmins alike when I've brought it up.
