Buff the taser's lethal setting
I like the new design of them but the redesign is rather pointless in retrospect. The only reason Goon made their tasers require 2 shots is because of how powerful their laser guns are, which led to people GGNOREing everybody by tasing and lasing. Here? Not so much, our lasers aren't that good. If the lethal setting was buffed it would make the taser much less weak because currently shooting someone once doesn't even really hamper their movement at all, meaning they can run away at full speed.

Why? Once you get shot once with a stun shot you are basically fucked and moving at half speed? How is that weak? Also just because goon has it doesnt mean it's automatically better. Their health and damage system is completely different.

I shot a few guys in the bar and they ran away like nothing happened, I'm not sure if that was a bug or what.

Did you actually hit them? Was it with the laser or the stun shot?
Also how would buffing the lethal damage do anything for stuns? For one, it seems like a quick way to get banned if you are going to just use lethal instead of stuns.

The first stun does nothing to movespeed on the new taser, meaning the most I get out of the element of surprise is making someone drop whatever they are holding and then saxing away

The first taze should give one second of confusion movement in addition to dropping stuff.

Yeah it didn't slow them at all, they just saxxed away, I was 100% on the stun setting

Pretty much, the only way to deal viable damage with the Taser Laser is to 'execute' people with it, but that'll still need multiple attempts as even with the massive damage multiplier it'll still not one shot crit someone.

The tradeoff before was perfect. Less ammo, less range, more obvious projectile in exchange for a stun.
I truly fear dealing with turbohitler antags like wizards/slings that can jaunt. Taser was -THE- answer for jaunt. God damn when I go sec I'm just going to grab the flashbang box.

taser and disabler were both very different modes with different areas in which they excelled at
all that's happened is disablers remaining the same, tasers being nerfed, and a rinky dink laser which officers could outperform with with a stack of floor tiles

The taser should not have a lethal setting. You have three sources of lethals should you need them. (Armory, Science, Cargo)

The problem is that the taser laser is worthless as I mentioned above.

It's a huge blob buff but a huge nerf in all other areas. If the taser setting was actually worth a damn, like if it actually stumbled people or gave them drunk movement for like 8 or 9 seconds it would be a decent alternative to the old taser.
