Let us attach igniter assemblies to fuel tanks

Post by Zilenan91 » #165367

More specifically igniter-remote signaling device assemblies so that assistants can make ghetto bombs without making IEDs

if you want to welderbomb atleast have the decency to use a lit welder on a tank

just armor your fat stupid body up and have a buddy extinguish you

alternatively you can steal a gun, or throw an ied at it

This allows remotely bombing using a fuel tank though if you signal the assembly

I know other servers allow this by screwdrivering the tank then putting the assembly on

Oh boy, a way for literally any asshole to bust open the brig with even less of a chance to catch em. Woo

You can also just shoot the welder tank if he comes near the brig with it

For gimmicks you can also rig one of these up everywhere on the station to cause a bunch of minor booms at once which would be neat.

baycode has this and it's hilarious to shove a rigged weldertank through the gateway and send the signal to trash the gate at the far end when they play Star "our away team consists of the entire bridge crew" Trek

Bay had this, just wrench the fuel tank's faucet open and slap on an assembly.

I used to get Security riled up remarkably often by dropping an assembly on top of a tank without applying the wrench first, making people paranoid and afraid they'd been set up the bomb whereas nothing really happened.
Bay being Bay I couldn't even get perma for it.
On /tg/ the same effect is achieved by turning empty plasma cans into singletanks.

The greater secret of singletanks is how to maxcap with them, not how to make them.

Not that you should betray the lesser one, either.

It is not possibly to maxcap with a single tank. Ive looked at the code, and done the calculations. It's not possible to fit that much hot plasma into a single tank to get it to explode. Hell, out of the three temperature bands they explode at, none of them could even hold enough plasma to even reach 2 times their base cap. Even at their best damage, they could only do 2,4,6 explosion.

The real secret to a large bomb is Cigars. You can easily get a 6,12,24 explosion with a cigar.

Doing this well would take a lot of heat off traitor scientists. If a medium-sized bones off, security wouldn't just be able to lynch toxins anymore. These would essentially be ghetto bombs. Not possible to maxcap, but you can still disrupt the station with them.

You've taken supercooling and overpressurising during reheating into account, yes?

Also, let me guess, nitro cigars?

Overpressurizing will cause a tank leak before you can make a bomb and therefore is useless.

Also, the secret is liquid plasma.

Funny, my high-pressure tanks never leaked. Must be new.

Plasma cigars I didn't expect to be such huge memes. I wonder how much damage nitro does, though.

IEDs, bless their shitty soul, have an unfortunate tendency to be activated with so low a timer that they explode in your hand and kill you.

Leo is aware of some goddamn atmos magic that lets him stuff in far more plasma into a container than should be possible.

I might end up having to just port Bay's shit since my custom hand-made code has offended the coders.

This is going to be a very positive change for traitors. Previously, any non-syndie bomb explosion meant that toxins was lynched. Now, it'll be a little harder to pin the blame on them since nearly anyone determined enough can make one of these.

attaching the igniter should have a 50% chance of blowing the tank up in your face

That's already technically a possibility with many triggering mechanisms.
