DOES NOT HAVE THE OPTION TO BE FILTERED ON ATMOS AIR PANELS WHY

REEEEEE

literally impossible to remove unless you use a disruptive, slow panic siphon or a useless portable scrubber that can't be upgraded

I've enjoyed using it a couple of times as chaplain, for religious ceremonies.

Yeah it's pretty fucking stupid. On par with adding Geiger counters.

It's just exclusively traitor shit. No other reason to have it. Doesn't fit the game theme at all either.

BZ isn't the only gas that isn't helpful in any way and really is just a traitor item but okay

Earlier today I had a round where I got half an oxygen tank of it and half oxygen, and I traveled the station, offering spiritual enlightenment. Few accepted it, but it was fun.

The chaplain should have a small amount in a personal oxygen-tank in their locker on round start. Not enough to spread through an area, but enough to use in ritual.

It should be removed from atmos entirely, absolutely no reason for it to be there.

I do think science should keep one stored in toxins, and an RD access-level canister that can be ordered from cargo. Its actual uses should be expanded as well, instead of just slime stasis.

I literally have no idea why it is not filterable because I have tested this multiple times on my machine and it works.

As far as atmos I have multiple of people telling me to add its own separate atmos tank and then people telling me to take it out of atmos, so basically nothing pleases anyone.

No reason for plasma to be in atmos either.

A retards guide on how to make a maxcap bomb in toxins.
NSFW:
You`ll need:
1-6 Plasma tanks 1-6 Oxygen tanks
1-6 tank transfer valve
2 Plasma canister
2 Oxygen canister
1 Yellow (empty) canister
Wrench
Toxins lab access
Science testing lab access

Grab a oxygen tank and a plasma tank and bring them to the testing lab.
Super cool the Oxygen and superheat the Plasma.

Clean out the oxygen and plasma tanks with a filter/pump.

Then you wrench and unwrench the plasma and oxygen tanks in toxins. It`s important tha you do it one at a time. Try to get a 85%plasma and 15% oxygen mix.

Once you have a good burn mix, pump the mix into the burn chamber and light it on fire. Wait 10 seconds for it to heat up and pump it into a yellow (empty) canister.

Quickly set the kpa output to 163 kpa and fill the tanks with the burn mix.

Take the oxygen tanks and fill it up with a 613kpa worth of oxygen FIRST then fill the rest with plasma, you should get well over 2000kpa in the end.

With the new atmos system you should wait 5-10 minutes for you tanks to bake.

Take a tank transfer valve, add a oxygen tank and a plasma tank to it. You should have a maxcap bomb. Have fun blowing up the station mining!

Yeah, I do it all the time tbh. A fully staffed atmos team will set it up if there's no situation that demands their attention or no autism projects or going on. The problem is that a lot of apathetic people sign up for atmos to take the hardsuit fire axe and be a general cunt throughout the station.

It's like with most things that get added here: someone had an idea, coded it, and put it in without consideration.

It's not a far-fetched idea -- many servers have or had this in the form of Agent B. (The coders did not want me adding this to our Agent B.) The considerations are and wer:

A) add more hazards on the station itself, rather than through traitor items or away missions/Lavaland
B) Add new forms of hazards; this one was easy in the sense that at least the underlying mechanic existed in the code already.
C) break meta, because previously whenever people started to hallucinate the only reason was lings, leading to a lot of shitty "I'VE BEEN HALLUCINATION STUNG THIS PERSON STOOD BY ME A FEW TILES AGO" metagaming

I plan to add the tank to atmos but real life has been kicking my ass lately and sorry but that takes precedence over adding new features to 2D spessmen. Anyone can do the same.

That makes some sense, but:

-it's already easy to die and get decapitated and shit
-people are already (rightfully so) complaining about average round length
-greytide is rampant and unchecked

Decapitation, gray tide and round length all have nothing to do with this.

Bz is extremely irrelevant and hardly lethal, anywhere where you could release BZ into the halls you'd be better off doing plasma.

Carbon dioxide -- whatever the fuck that is -- is also invisible. And unlike carbon dioxide, BZ doesn't even stunlock you. (It has a chance to stun, but unlike carbon dioxide, it doesn't do it permanently.)

CO2 filters out fast, takes a sizeable amount displacing breathable oxygen (As long as theres 16kpa breathable somewhere), and gives you plenty of warning before you're in the "fucked" stage. Just putting on internals reverses it completely.

The respective "fucked" stages though are being stunlocked vs. seeing everyone as corgis, hallucinating Lord Singulo and maybe passing out once or twice. As for supercooled BZ if someone wants to go to that extra effort they should reap extra reward. Part of the job of the atmos tech (slash engineer) is to save people from environmental hazards like that, although with our playerbase it's become "Steal fire axe, go braindead"

Venting supercooled BZ gas is harder than venting N2O or plasma, you can supercool N2O but that's visible and gives people warning while CO2 is a meme gas. It at least gives more "tactical" options for atmos techs to use beyond just venting plasma, taking the suit and venting all the surplus air
