My First Time Playing As a Head Was Yesterday

I played as CMO during the the round last night when the Captain seceded from Nanotrasen and the Deathsquad came at the end. As it was my first time playing as a head I'd like to know how I did so I can improve for future rounds. I would like to apologize for my spelling on some of the announcements as I was trying to get them out quick. I look forward to to seeing feedback on how I did. Btw I'm Vernon R. Humphrie in game.

Eh, no one can tell you how well you did... It's a shit toss.

Chances are, you did fine but not as well as you could have. Why? Because there's always something about this game that you don't know.

No one will likely remember you if you didn't interact with a traitor in some dunking fashion or save the station. As a CMO/RD especially, your job is often delegated to a supportive/quiet heroism.

The CMOs got some pretty important jobs. He's in charge of being ignored by the chemists when he tells at them to set up cryo, filling his hypo with clorhal, sitting on his ass since medbay pretty much runs itself, and getting his face and clothes melted off with polyacid

But truthfully, CMO, compared with other heads, has a bit of a different role. You're either expect to be the only Doctor actually in medbay or your expect to be a super patrol doc, using your hypo spray/defrib as a quick life saver.

If you are in medbay its always good to actively keep checking the Crew Monitor console, as you're one of the few people who have access to one. And if people actually turn on their suit sensors, you can direct security to issues or others to retrieve bodies. If RD has a decent telescience operator you could feed them coordinates and actually get them to teleport bodies directly to genetics.

CMO's not appreciated by many players, because he's the main representative of the exact opposite way that they play the game (the CMO and MDs heal people; most players know only harm). So a player who's willing to get into the swing of things when it comes to playing CMO is a comfort.

i was probably in that round as AI but i don't think we ever interacted. you shouldn't expect much to remember you. there are broadly three kinds of people that will be remembered:

that asshole
the real shitlers
the exceptional super-robust/superheroes who either save or doom the station against impossible odds

the fact that you didn't get any criticism means you did a good job.

I always thought it had more to do with the fact that he's not a very high priority target. Compared to some of the other heads he doesn't carry much worth stealing. The hypospray for shooting people up with chloral and unstable mutagen maybe, but that's about it.
