Start with the 800 start date for norse.

Reform ASAP, gives you a large bonus to all true religion pagans, you'll have to deal with old unreformed paganism but just suck their dicks and they should convert sooner rather than later.

turn them to feudal asap, you want to do this so you can begin constructing cities and churches which are the economic backing of your shit. Small armies are temporary so it's best to do it early rather than late.

No, there has never been one who's the direct descendant since this isn't the Rashidun Caliphate, but you can actually get to muhammed if you go down the 700 start date arabian caliphate far enough. His name is muhammed and he actually doesn't have a character profile but instead just some muslim writing over a green background ;_;

So I wanted to stream this Friday night but I remember I've only played it once before.

I managed to do pretty well as Duke Cheese Pizza of Sicily so I decided to ratchet it up.

We're now King Mister T of Germany (East Francia?), of house Pitties No Fools. I'm in the "Rise of the Norse" era because vikings are cool. If anyone is free and willing to join in chat and help me steer this fucker I'd be appreciative.

Mister T is some kind of warrior education. He is wroth, but just. If you're not a fool you'll be okay. If you're a fool you're going in the dungeon where he will personally come punch you every day. He needs a wife and some council appointments off the bat, and then we're going on the warpath because you're either gonna be somebody or you're gonna be somebody's fool.

I want to learn how2properly Norse properly. Like when/how to reform the religion and feudalize properly, then push the christians back into the desert wastes they came from. I'm down.

From my experience, it's best to reform religion asap, because sooner or later you will loose holy sites due to gavelkind, or moral authority gained from raiding temples and conquesting counties will disappear.

Only make double sure that your vassals like you, people who don't like you will stay with old norse ways. Same with Rurik or whoever norse is leading in russian lands. He is a valuable ally.

It is good to help norse lords in russia and england, as this provides you with more allies during great holy war that you call as fylkir of reformed religion.

Feudalising is much more problematic... Don't feudalise immediately after you have castle in capital, because you will receive -75% income and levy penalty to tribal holdings from "wrong holding type".

Make some more castles in demesne, also investing prestige in prestige buildings is useful, as levels II and IV of tribal buildings will become I and II of castle holdings.

Your still tribal vassals will receive -30 opinion against you for wrong government type.

Also when you feudalise, levies will be reset and start rebuilding from 0 (but this was fixed by last patch I think).

So feudalisation is problematic and expect than you will have like 4 or 3 times smaller army immediately after feudalisation. However after some time, your more advanced troops will be able to smash mostly light infantry composed tribal armies.

I haven't played multiplayer for CK2 yet but if it's anything like the other Paradox games I've played, multiplayer can be a pain to set up. I remember for Sengoku we had to use Hamachi. (also if anyone can get mulitplayer to work, i'd love to play, none of my friends own this game :()

X4's are pretty hard to make visually interesting even with the most dynamic games. The only time I remember watching an X4 game being fun it was because TOP KEK.

Yeah, but to the fans, those text blocks are amazing

Also, I just plain can't watch Quill. I watched him do Hearts of Iron and he was just...

No. See how your signature is a combination of traits for a character?

If there was a way to save a pre-generated character that was setup with those traits and the attributes you wanted, so everytime you go to play a new game you could just pick the location you wanted to start in and then import that guy as your first noble/patrician/raja/whatever. Maybe you tweak it slightly for religion/culture and then boom done go.

Like with Dominions 4 I don't have to build a Pretender from scratch every game if I have one I like already made. I can just re-use that and go.
It seems like you can't even play with the character builder in CK2 unless you start a new game and then exit out when you're satisfied. ATM all I could think to do would be writing down all your choice for your build and just consulting it when you started a new game.
