Quintet: Multiplayer Bridge Crew Madness (FREE!)

If you've played Artemis before you already know what this is. It's that, but now with multiplayer vs. We gotta get a crew together and fuck shit up.
If you don't know what that is, I'll explain:
Each player takes a seat at one console on the ship. Someone is the Captain, someone else is the Engineer, etc. You move the ship around and do stuff by having the Captain scream and yell orders at the rest of the crew, who then decide to do whatever the fuck they feel like and everyone explodes.
...but now you have the ability to go toe-to-toe with other shitcrews awkwardly stuttering around the universe and fighting over whether the lasers or the shields deserve more power while the helmsmen is doing sick space donuts around an asteroid.
AND ITS FREEEEEEEEEEEEEE
So let's fucking do this you space jerks.

I'm not sure how the multiplayer works yet, if we can do a private server and have team fights or what?
It's time to finally settle which group of shitheads in this community is truly the most well coordinated, most robust motherfuckers in the spess game.

1) You can put a password on your ship so no pubs/traitors get in.
2) There's some kind of server client somewhere for hosting your own games.

It's a similar concept, but things are broken down even more. In GoI one person flies the ship while the rest of the crew scrambles to keep things repaired and man the different guns. It's like being on a big flying pirate ship, you can run around the deck to different things to whack them with a wrench or whatever.
In Quintet (and Artemis) you have a control screen that represents your terminal on the bridge. You listen to orders you're given by the Captain to do different things. Each individual crew member is assigned a job and sticks with it. Those jobs are (taken directly from the game's website):
Captain
The Captain's role is to not only be a good leader, but a good communicator. Good communication will lead to a successful mission. If a crew member is getting out of line, the Captain can eject them, and when all else fails, there is always the self-destruct button.
Helm
Driving a ship through three dimensions is not for the weak of heart. Flying is not only about dodging asteroids and other ships. The Helm operator needs to get the ship in position so Tactical, Engineering and Science officers can do their jobs optimally.
Tactical
Tactical controls the weapons. It's their job to lock on a target, fire and blow stuff up. Choose that right moment to unleash the most powerful cannon. Additionally, they can calibrate the beam frequency to penetrate enemy shields.
Engineering
They may not get all the glory, but the Engineer is the one who actually gives more power to the shields. Additionally, they can hack an enemy to drop their shields, weapons or engines or boost an ally. The Engineer is the only person who can repair the ship's hull.
Science
The Science officer is the ship's special effects guru. They can tractor beam (push or pull) a friend or foe. Teleport the ship into its weapons range or make a quick escape even through an asteroid. They can also scan an enemy ship to detect their hull strength and shield frequency.

I played a game with some folks Friday night. It's great. There are different ships with different tactical abilities and drawbacks.
There are ships designed to be played with fewer people as well, if you can't fill up a full compliment of five. By default you can use ships for 1,2,4, and 5 players. Three person ships you have to pay to unlock, but you also get a bunch of bonus scenarios for doing so.
I forget their name but the red ships are best ships. You have this giant energy shield you can bring up specifically for ramming people that works great.

Sounds fun, what I didn't like about goi was my lag and the running parts making me teleport off the ship might have a look if anyone can tolerate a laggy australian in their crew.

Quintet does this weird thing when two people try to get in the same seat.
