Space Beast Terror Fright (SEIZURE HEAVY)

Space Beast Terror Fright is an indie game reminiscent of Aliens and the old AvP's. You start off as a rookie in a randomly generated ship and must locate and download data from databanks to gain upgrades and access the reactor. Once you power down the reactor, you have 80 seconds to make it back to your shuttle. You then get XP to be promoted and are sent off to another ship. Against you are aliens that crawl on walls and try to outsmart you with flanking, ambushing, and being spooky. One hit and you are dead. They randomly create breaches in the map that act as spawn points. To counter these, you can use turrets to hold them off, but don't stand in the fire of the turrets as they will kill you.

The game ranges from a slow, tense search to quake speed running and gunning. The closer they are to you, the higher your FOV and game speed becomes. The music speeds up and grows more intense as well.

It's $15 on steam and currently supports local coop. 4 player online coop is on the way. It's one hell of a hair raising game.

I've never seen a videogame more deserving of a Seizure Warning.
It's hilariously awful. This is fucking unplayable looking. Even if it wont cause you to flop around on the floor like a fish the eye strain is real. Fuck this game I already own a Virtual Boy.

There's a huge seizure warning in the game. It looks bad in trailers, but when you play it the muzzleflash works with the game. You need to wait for the smoke to clear after firing to see if it's dead. Like in aliens. Besides that it's early access so the guy making it can always tweak it.

Honestly this is a game you have to play to appreciate. When online is added it's gonna be perfect.

"Today I have implemented a new user option slider to adjust the intensity of the muzzle flare light effect, with the current setting being the default and maximum.

We anticipate rolling out a new update within the next few days that will include this feature (and more)."

It has, apparently, been mildly de-seizured, courtesy of adjustable muzzle flash.

After giving it a go I admit it would be really cool to play with people if they added more variable terrain.

Everything I've played is a big flat corridor. No stairs up or down anywhere, no big open rooms. It's just corridor sections and intersections.
CO-OP roguelike aliens murder simulator is a premise I can get behind, but there's nowhere near enough to the game right now to justify throwing $15 and it and even with adjustable flash that effect is still a beast on the eyeballs.

I'll jump on it the first time it goes on sale or maybe in a few months when it's more feature complete.
