Leoz - Biased and Invalid conduct
Title:Invalid conduct
AdminLeoz
Byond account and character name: NikNakFlak
Post Content: This isn't ingame admin abuse and I fully expect it to get closed but I'm riled up and I want as many people to see this as possible.
https://github.com/tgstation/tgstation/pull/28879
Also relevant: https://github.com/tgstation/tgstation/pull/23880:
Leoz closed my pull request and added a do not merge for basically no reason other than a biased opinion. It did not violate code standards, more people had opinions in either direction, some in support of me and others not, bottom line is though, none of that mattered because he shoved in his own opinion as law and closed it for no reason, not even letting it stay open for even a little bit longer after he himself added a do not merge.
Separation of codebase and server can be absolute all you want but I'm still mad and going to make a fuss about it. I've sent a strongly worded letter to the maintainers, the host, and kor as well as oranges to keep him in the loop.
This is a horrible misconduct and very unjust in my opinion and I am going to do all I can to reverse this decision.

Re: Leoz - Biased and Invalid conduct
this might get removed, but I have had this same issue with many other maintainers, and I saw LeoZ close NikNak's PR.
there may not be many rules, but even the ones outlined in the contributing guide are frequently broken. Honestly it just discourages me from coding to know that if a single maintainer doesn't like my PR, they can close it.

Re: Leoz - Biased and Invalid conduct
the contributing guide is here: https://github.com/tgstation/tgstation/ ... IBUTING.md
as you can see, LeoZ has no permission to close a PR because of his opinion, he is a maintainer. He can only close things for violating code standards.
The problem is there are ZERO checks and balances on the coder side of the game, and sure nobody is obligated to implement them, but as an open source project the game will only suffer without them.

Something something config
Something something precedent of complaining about coders in code feedback

Re: Leoz - Biased and Invalid conduct
This isn't about my opinion as law, I made a requested change, I do not decide if it goes in or not, the difference is, neither should leoz.
My opinion is to remove it, and this isn't solely my opinion, and it's not being enforced as law, it's being proposed as a change.
leoz is enforcing his opinion as law, not the other way around.

That hierarchy list is heavily outdated and maintainers/project managers had their roles merged years ago

Re: Leoz - Biased and Invalid conduct
Have you read the admin complaints rules?
https://tgstation13.org/phpBB/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=166
Please read before you start a complaint over something that was not an administrative issue.

Re: Leoz - Biased and Invalid conduct
Proposing a change in which different people have different opinions on is in what way hateable?
Everyone is free to agree or disagree with the PR, I'm mad about the person overstepping their bounds because of their personal dislike.
I'm mad about you being retarded but I don't get to do anything about that in this thread either.

Re: Leoz - Biased and Invalid conduct
Claim it's outdated all you want, how is this any different from punishing people for a rule that no longer exists on the rules page when it was removed?
The claim and process is stated there, and unless it's updated, it is the document and standards that were set.
It's not my fault it's not updated. If a document on how something works is put out, it's not my job to keep it updated,
It's out there as the current standing process.
I included cheridan in the letter

I'm not disputing the OP here but you will not likely get far trying to make this argument on this forum. Your best bet for anything to come of this is to make your case with Cheridan specifically.

Re: Leoz - Biased and Invalid conduct
Remember the time he merged his own shit despite a 85% dislike ratio?
And then closed the revert of it also himself?

even so, there's nothing in the project manager role that says they do anything other than enforce quality standards either.Kor wrote:>He can only close things for violating code standards.
