If centcom can open portals on the station why do they always use escape shuttles?

CentCom keeps scrambling it's location so you'd probably never get a good lock on it, need a shuttle to ensure you can make those last-minute alterations.

the truth is centcomm is empty and is just used as a dumping ground for when they activate the amnesiac-ending kill switch that makes you remember all the horrible rounds you've experienced and sends you into a killing frenzy

then they collect all the bodies, clone them, give them amnesia and send them in another station to do it all over again
