I hate these kinds of people so much. Nothing more annoying than a shitter that runs into the department when an airlock is open, or a fucking head of staff (really?) abusing their power to try and steal something from the department.

What's also cringe is toemas and the other people "playfighting". It's really cringe and NRPlike when people fight each other in their departments and not in the boxing ring or holodeck. Literally no one outside of their metagroup knows that their fighting (and RD flashbanging them) is friendly and consensual, and I don't think RD being their friends is justification to throw a flashbang at them.

In a optimistic look, yes. This was better for Lucy.

I know messing around with your friends on the server sounds well intentioned, but it causes a cluster of problems if other people get involved. For this situation, nobody other than the meta friend was messed with, and it seems like the argument “oooh hey, nobody other than my friend got harmed lol stop being 1984” would be valid, but, it can lead to problems. The recent actions of Lucy are reasonable proof.

When you do stupid stuff for no reason, you get stupid prizes, and meta friends clearly aren’t a excuse. The admin clearly though Lucy was being a bad sport, and punished them with, you guessed it, stupid prizes. Later on, they did this again, and security got involved because they thought they were a antagonist (hint hint if you act like antag you are treated as one), and the catch is, they were not a antagonist.

Do you see my point here? This is CLEARLY solved by not mindlessly being selfish without reason. It should be known this perma should have happened a long, long time ago. It’s been YEARs (I think) and this behavior seemingly hasn’t changed. In fact, they could have just straight up said in their appeal that they are sorry, but, the alternative here I see is that they resorted to not using grammar. A perma is good choice, not only because it would be better off, but because it is ultimately better for everyone involved, including Lucy.

TL;DR, they did not effect anyone negatively in this appeal, as Tomas stated, but is still a bad behavior anyway because it could have involved people who are not involved in the meta frenzy because there is no context

As a headmin, unless a vote is unanimous (ban appeals are usually majority vote, so 2-1 wins) you only have to convince 1 other person to support you AND you'll be more familiar with your headmin team's private views and opinions when placing said ban.

It's a way different prospect as an admin. Each headmin term has a different set of standards and expectations. Every 6 months a new batch of 3 poor Bambis enter and take 6 months to decide buying griff shuttles is now bad or killing on MRP is now good. Then next term killing on MRP bad and buying griff shuttles good.

There was an appeal last term where we did the ol' switcharoo, unbanning the person that appealed and banning the ahelper for banbaiting. That's an example of something that is 100 times easier to do as a headmin, because you just go into your headminbus channel and go @headmins "Here's the logs: [...] I propose banning them for banbaiting. Can I get a +1?" and you're set. Nobody's gonna stop you.

So, so much easier to get something like that handled as a headmin. If I recall correct, the process was me digging up the logs, pinging the other two headmins, everyone agreeing and Mothblocks gathing it all together to draft the response and place the counter-ban on the ahelper.

As a headmin I would totally not expect or ask an admin to place this sort of ban. I'd just ask for the details and do it myself. Because it's so, so much easier for everyone.
