Good Takes Thread
We've had a bad takes thread recently, so now we need a good takes one
Post good takes here; only good takes will be accepted
I'll start:
We have too many pets on every map nowadays. We should have pet spawners that randomize whether a pet spawns or not each round, so they stay special and as a novelty rather than being so commonplace.

Exposing yourself to extreme pressure should give you bone wounds. People should be afraid of plasmafires and run away, not run into it to print a circular saw to hunt antag, walk away then extinguish themselves.
Insulated gene, temperature and pressure adapt should get removed. Free immunities are boring, and bad for the game as they let people ignore a rather large part of the game.
Experimental hand teleporter should get removed, it's literally better than the bluespace launchpand, airlock jacker and hand teleporter you need to steal in every way, as well as being untraceable.
Light explosions and stronger should completely shatter windows, and heavy shatter reinforced windows. Explosions should also damage people's lungs, with heavy explosions completely melting them.
There should be more sources of organ damage. Maybe piercing wounds could expose organs, making attacks damage them.
Omnizine should just get removed. It's kinda dumb that you can remove second degree burns by eating heated donk pockets. That's just ridiculously boring and stupid.
There should be far less healing chemicals. Instead chemistry should focus on making high quality plastics. They can make some stabilisation chemicals to hand out to doctors to help with their surgery.
People shouldn't be able to heal themselves by just carrying a medkit. Instead the contents of the medkits would temporarily slow down bleeding, infections and similar shit, giving people more time to run to medbay or get a paramedic.
Luxury medipens and legion cores should get replaced with an adrenaline injector. The adrenaline injector will give miners time run to medbay. Ash drake armour and the other one should also get removed. Miners should not be able to ignore more than half of the game mechanics while being a recluse. They should visit medbay and avoid setting themselves on fire. Lavaland mobs should inflict some nasty wounds too, to make it less gamey about avoiding health approaching 0.
Spears should have pointy sharpness instead of edged, and maybe have a higher wound bonus. Kinda dumb that they were giving sharp edged sharpness because the coder thought it was better than pointy in every way, while giving it a negative wound bonus.
Botany should focus on making edible plants for the station, or plants to help with the chef. The gameplay should be harder to make it more interesting. It's kinda sad that botany gameplay is just a bunch of basic plants you can get roundstart, easily give them max stats, and everything evolved after that are just grief plants.
The ore silo should get removed. Miners could spend more time refining their ores to what the crew requests and pays for, then miners get paid when they get those materials delivered.
Gas at high density should have some serious visibility problems. Water vapour could be more foggy, and obscure vision at long distances, then shorter distances the higher the density is. There could be some goggles to help make this less hell, maybe mesons. Wearing sunglasses would make this effect far worse for you.
Our current stamina system sucks absolute balls.
Golems could have crumble wounds that are easy to inflict. Disables limbs and slows them down. They can not get healed.
Sunglasses should have tint and FoV.

Coughing and Sneezing shouldn't be metagameable cues for diseases. They should be more common, specially in a claustrophobic, hazardous and filthy space coffin.
Spessmen should cough and sneeze often.
Is it too cold? You shiver and Sneeze. Did the clown fill the hallway with water vapor? Cough until you get out of the cloud. Did you go into a dusty, dirty maint room, sneeze two, three times because some got into your nose. Maybe you ate too much, too fast, so you have a coughing fit cause it almost went into the other hole.
Maybe sneeze if people is talking about you behind your back. Or have a quirk in which you can't stop coughing or sneezing randomly all the time.
I'm just saying, I think it's dumb to limit sneezes and coughs just as virus symptoms when they're one of the most common reactions people can have to their environment, from time to time, even for no particular reason.

atmospheric technician should be removed and atmos as a whole should be simplified, like there should only be one pipe network, not a scrubber and a distro network. air vents should double as both scrubbers and venters; air vents would be "smart" and target a certain air mix/pressure.

the whole entire game is based on atmos, was made for a atmos system, and doesn’t need any changes to atmos. the issue is that atmos is bloated to all hell with useless garbage and sealing up breaches is painful enough, but having to deal with the shittiest atmos equipment imaginable (space heaters YAY!!!!!!) because if we had better equipment then that means atmos techs could make Retardium Gas easier and god forbid we do that
also having to set down two layers of pipes and setting up air vents AND scrubbers just makes reconstruction painful. dont even get me started on the fact engineers cant unlock air alarms (which are required so that they can turn on the new air vents/scrubbers they just rebuilt)

If a coder took the time to refactor the gasses (and remove some unnecessary ones) instead and add more equipment for atmos, I would, and possibly most, would be fine with it.
Perhaps the RPD can have something like the RCD scan thing where it can show where to replace scrubbers, vents and pipes just like how the RCD can. Maybe it can be a R&D thing, but I don’t think so since it’s very hard to rebuild atmos once someone bombs medbay.
