I dislike the filter. "autist" might be recognizable and make people think "this person using this term like a dipshit sounds even more like a dipshit," but it doesn't need to point at ASD to have a similar effect imo - maybe something without content like "twizzler?"

I get where MSO's coming from besides. Involuntary celibate as a slur is insensitive in its common connotation to a lot of people who don't have success in relationships and sex but are just as well not necessarily misogynists, predators, or generally resentful shitheads about others' bodies and freedom in the world.

There are lots of reasons perfectly decent people struggle in finding intimacy with others - with each other even - that probably apply a lot more broadly in this community than what describes the set of attitudes and attributes put into the stereotype of an "involuntary celibate" based off of the worst examples on 4chan and digg.

Sex, race, and age are all protected classes.

I don't understand why it's even formatting involuntary celibate as autist. You could be involuntarily celibate for any number of reasons that are not explicitly "they're autistic" and as we've seen in both the peanut and the appeal equating the two just drives confusion, let alone the real and legitimate distaste people have for the equating of autism and the cultural connotation of what an "involuntary celibate" is.

I really think that message is lost when the word has been claimed by a group of people that blames all their loneliness on women and uses it as an excuse to hate them.

Especially so when it's filtered to "autist" here, and "autist" is already controversial in itself and made more so by linking that word to it.
