Roundstart Species tier list

Post by Itseasytosee2me » #634085

Based on how good I think they are conceptually, not on ballance or the type of people that play them.

Lizard people are classic sci-fi, they fit into the setting the most.

But for a less opinion-based take, there is a difference. Lizards people are more like reptilian humanoids, which feel distinct and alien.
Moth people, on the other hand, are based on a real and specific animal species. They aren't just LIKE moths, they ARE moths. It makes them less believable to me.

Yeah, I agree with that. If I was counting the quality of the player I would also probably bump moth down a peg, and send felinids to the shadow realm.

Not to say that all moths and plasmamen are bad, there are definitely some good players, but I would say that the average quality is worse.

I think conceptually and visually ethereals are higher then plasme n for me, for two major reasons:

Aesthetically ethereals have an infinitely higher number of options. Energy people who can act as literal conduits is also more interesting to me than on-fire-skeleton-man. The naming conventions are also more diverse. I’m mainlining a lightbulb right now so yes I am heavily biased.

I agree with your analysis of moths vs lizardmen, but I firmly believe that plasmen belong in B tier despite being a classic.

Lizards are classic in a way the others aren't just from how long they existed in code but inaccessible to normal players

They also have a bit more fluff development in terms of culture, biology (and relevant mechanics like dietary needs and temperature response), etc.

Woah bravo there sir, post of the month you saved the thread. I feel overwhelmed by the echo of unlimited wisdom and usefulness sprouting from you post. Every Manuel player now feels embarrased to exist because of your much NEEDED wise words, you sure teached'em all, you genius, IQ lord.
