Traitor's pocket motion detector to facilitate stealth

Post by Amnestik » #143031

Detects motion in a wider radius than the character's view range, to facilitate stealth as a valid strategy during higher population rounds, as an alternative to "pre-emptively murder all the men," gameplay which is most fun when a game's respawn/restart time doesn't stretch into the >10 minute territory. Or even the >5 minute territory, to be honest.

where are you having problems with stealth, hallways or maintenance? like zil says thermals will solve the problem for maintenance. if you're trying to do traitor stuff in open hallways without somehow terraforming the environment you're in for a bad time.

Wider than your view range? How fucking useless.

Yeah great you're sneaking around in maint and the guy walking around in toxins is continuously setting it off, or you're waiting in the incinerator and virologist moves to put something in the fridge.

MAYBE this would be useful at the far south-western end of maint, since not a lot of people stick around engineering after roundstart.

Buy thermals.

Honestly, would anybody mind if I lowered the TC price for thermals? I never see them get bought at all lately, and if we want to push stealth it could be a good change.
