Make Mob Control Confirmation Timer Based Not First Come

(correct me if I'm wrong)

As the title says, I want to propose that when the game gives all ghosted players a pop up to assume control over a mob, that it be based on a five second timer on which anyone who's selected yes will be randomly polled to take the role.

Right now it seems that the selection is based on whoever hits yes first. This awards many antag and player opportunities to people with higher pings who can click yes faster.

It should be giving equal chance to all of them. Thats why its poll candidates.

Drones, Swarmers, Golems, and Positronic brains are all on a first-come first-served basis. They use a visual alert system along with a link in the chat box. I prefer this system as it is less annoying in presentation.

Any prompt that shows a "Yes" or "No" popup uses the poll, and will randomly select someone from those who reply "yes" regardless of response timing, as long as you did so within the allotted time.

For me, a happy medium would be removing all the popups, but using their random selection system for everything. No one should beat someone else for a role just because they have a faster mouse hand and ping.

Pop ups are fucking cancer, and should be removed where ever possible.

It's probably way beyond what byond could handle, but something that appears on the side of the UI screen (Giant exclamation point or similar 1 tile notification button) that when clicked upon would zoom the player to the location of a mob ready for player control, and THEN they could poll/double click the mob to indicate their willingness to play. Something tells me there'd be no easy way to implement this though.

You are in fact wrong. It isn't a first-come basis - at least, for popups like offering control and parasites.
I'm an ex-coder for /tg/. I made the original versions of clockcult, shadowlings, revenants, His Grace, and other stuff.
I don't play, code, or participate in the community, but I occasionally post dumb stuff in the hut.

it is for things that you have to click on to enter, like swamers
having a poll for EVERY SWARMER AND EVERY DRONE AND EVERY POSIBRAIN is kinda dumb though
