Delay antag distribution at round start

Antag distribution at round start should be delayed by x minutes. I would go with 2 or 3, or maybe even random. Maybe even random per traitor.

Reason being certain individuals rushing to kill someone the second they see that antag status, even before people have to chance to get their items out of a locker for example. This would also help tone down the suicides at round start because people don't get antag. No more roundstart mass flashing during rev either. No more rushing the captain ID immediately without even giving anyone a chance to secure it.

Of course exceptions to this are wizard and nuke ops.

The exceptions don't matter much either because nobody on the station can see them.

They are needed because nuke ops and wizard need to actually spawn at round start. Otherwise only ghosts would be eligible. That or despawning crew which would be byond dumb.

I mean that on the player level the distinction is not really there because its visible. Of course wizard/flops selection would have to take place at roundstart.

Changeling would be kinda weird to delay, but otherwise I like the idea.

"Oh whoops I just realised I'm a deadly space alien riiiiiight."

For syndicate agents it could be some fluff like they suddenly awake from their deep-cover hypnotism and remember their original reason for infiltrating Nanotrasen.

As I remember it, there's already some sort of text for making somebody into a changeling mid-round. That same thing could apply.

Maybe Changelings need to enter "camouflage" to avoid detection through DNA scanner when boarding the station, so conceal their powers and wipe their memories, until they need to be activated
It's not that hard to fluff out a reason

This sounds smart but if you say it's too hard to code I can easily believe that

Changelings just have to wait for their other headmates to stop fronting for a bit so they can get on with eating people.

So instead of a bunch of people going braindead at round start we'll have a bunch of people stand there motionless for the entire round while people play LoL or something in a different window waiting for the antag sound.

To be honest? What will this solve?

Will it stop being from going braindead/suiciding at the start of the round?

I guess it will make people wait an extra 3 minutes before going braindead, suiciding. Honestly this seems more like an annoyance to people who actually get antag than anything else.

We already have a 10 second delay for most on-station antags before we actually tell them they are antagonists.

It wouldn't be hard to just make the delay a little bit longer.

This would be great, if only as a test to see how it impacts antag rolling suicides/braindeads.
