Traitor item:Computer bug

Post by Ezel » #78941

:toysword: Computer bug :toysword:

We all know camera bugs right
Now my idea was a computer bug that let you control a console (example commucations security records medical records etc) from a distance
And bypasses idd confirmation for a certainly computer but the controller needs to be swiped with a idd so the controller can get access for it

But you might say (this would end up recall/call shuttle wanted status 24/7)

So what about you get a computer bug kit with a controller and 3 bugs

How to use it?
1 find a console or make one
2 deconstruct the console until you get the circuit and put the bug one it
It will say the circuit is bugged now
3 finish the console
4 grab your computer bug controller and controll it

But now you may say but you control it where ever you are

Well what if we give it a range of around 10-30 tiles
So if the console is further than 10-30 tiles your out of range and cant control the console

Pros
You can control a console from a distance.

Cons
You have to be in range.

Poeple will get suspicous if sonething happens and nobody is near a console and will seek poeple currently in range

Can see a bugged console if they check the circuit

You cant bypass idd confirmation unless your controller is swiped with a idd (examples Qm Hos Sec officer medical director captain etc

Cyberpunk station 13?

I had an idea like this some time ago, specifically a laptop a traitor could order and plug into an APC to get control of consoles linked to it. Once jacked in the traitor would select the terminal of his choice and hack in to it by selecting from a list of exploits unique to that type of console. Successfully hacking it would give them control of the console. Selecting the wrong exploit would cause one of a few effects

1. The text on the console would be jumbled and fucked up on the console's side for several minutes, giving the hacker away to anyone currently using it and making things a bit confusing once the hacker manages to get in
2. The console starts playing warning sounds, letting anyone nearby know what's going on
3. The console shuts down for a minute or two
4. The traitor's laptop blue screens and needs to be reset, which takes a couple of seconds

Needless to say the traitor would probably want to start with more secluded consoles before moving on to the bigger stuff.

I don't suppose the AI would also receive warnings?
