Super T-Ray Scanner

Is it possible that we could get a 'Super T-Ray Scanner' that comes with CE, or is able to be bought from cargo, or from R&D, or whatever? The idea is that rather than only the immediate 3x3 area around you being scanned, all tiles visible to you are scanned. This would be useful in replumbing/rewiring areas bombed out (or at least making it less tedious than it is now).
Thoughts?
(In retrospect, this should have been a minor suggestion, but what the hell, it's here now.)

I've got plans for this with my tiered tools update when WJohnston finishes the sprites.

engineering ancillary tools should just be straight buffed imo,

i doubt anyone will scream about "engineering 2strong" as it is, they barely repair anything and the first time there's any damage to stationbody it's time for shuttle call.
