What nobody considers is the fact that you're already paying for other people's healthcare. When someone comes into an emergency room, gets treated, and can't pay for it, they get an obscenely expensive bill for it. Either they default on the bill and the cost is transferred to the state and by taxpayer, they end up on welfare while they're trying to pay the bill and the cost is transferred to the state and by extension taxpayer, or both. It makes much more financial sense to use taxpayer funds to treat minor problems with quality preventative care before they fester into massive, expensive ones that taxpayers will end up having to pay for anyway.

Ted Cruz covered this in the debate he had with Sanders, even telling a story about how some old woman in the UK had a heart attack and her granddaughter called an ambulance and it took it seven fucking hours to show up.
