It was just a prank bro isn't a very good excuse when it comes to unprovoked nonantag murder, but since this is your first time doing it and you seem to understand the problem instead of a bannu I'm just going to leave you with a warning. Please PLEASE don't do this again in the future, as funny as crackhead broken bottle memes can be. Alrighty? Do you have any input on this?

Teleporting is for girly elves.
Are you calling me an elf?

I was walking through some settlement on the way to what was the listed location of the village and see names I don't recognise (because you're not using your tg names) and buildings weren't ss13 related but some weird meme stuff you lot have come up with since I last played.
Maybe someone should make a map of the village and post it here
Then you can all claim houses/fields for farming/what should be a road/mines/public service stuff like workshops
Identify the ones already there, reserve open spaces for things the group needs, and so on
That shit will help a lot in organizing, as opposed to 'just start building'

Problem is that since the game doesn't exist in true 3d and we don't have flight options, there's no real good way of getting a screenshot so somebody would have to eyeball a diagram or try to intuit one from the mapviewer.

I mean, everything is built on a square grid so if you were enterprising you could just sketch the whole thing out on a spread sheet or graph paper and just color in the zones.

Booted the game up today to give it a go and not gonna lie the incredibly dated controls make me unsure i will be able to suffer through them to enjoy the game. Is there a way to mouselook at least?
Arthur Thomson says, "Since there are no admins I would loging with another account and kill you"
Caleb Robinson laughs.

Left clicking and dragging allows you to look. If you're using your keyboard to look around you're memeing yourself.
More screenshots!
If you don't mind
I can't be arsed to instal/play because of the engine, Java, shit controls etc. But I still want to see what you guys are making

What's to keep up with? Most of the players are new arrivals, I take entire days off away due to work and class. You're fine.
I guess I could try it out, I'm on pretty much 20 hours a day lately because the life of a cave dwelling neckbeard is monotonous and boring. Not much has really changed in the scheme of things other than my house being mostly stone and town being moderately terraformed, everything else hasn't really been upgraded or changed. Me and cedar are probably the highest skillwise but we've just been doing our own thing not really putting a bunch of things everywhere. He's been working on a church thing and I've been terraforming and path building.
Back in my day, we didn't have any of that fancy shit
We just threw our food on the fire and ate it whenever!
We had one floor housing so everything looked like a terrible suburb!
We had no bridges, so we just made landbridges!
And we didn't like it, but we dealt with it anyway!
I used to play on golden valley which was even more hardcore
>20 skill cap
>everything decays at like 6x speed
>no deeds
>had to gang up on goblins with a bunch of people
>if you got lucky and RNG'd improving a tool without using ore to 30 you were a god
I could write up my entire Wurm experience too, there has been a load of shit
Also some of the stuff I made might still be around today. They still have what was the pvp server back then, right?

wild? yeah, it got renamed though
and meh maybe i'll write about it some other time, i'd have to dig deep in the noggin banks
Church
- Roof on
- Floor finished
- Walls for rounded stone cemetery area framed in. Stones and grave stones to follow
- New altar finished once I add the bowl and make some QL improvements
- Needs pew benching, a podium or table of some sort for giving sermons
- Needsd dim lighting features/censers(?)
Tavern
- First floor shape planned
- Needs substantial amounts of grass and clay for first floor
- Might use stone for the second floor
- Second floor will be either inn space or brewery space.
- First floor will have tables and chairs, a serving space and counter, an open hearth fireplace, booths with windows, eating and drinking materials (stiens, plates, bowls, etc)
- If a cellar is possible we can use that space for brewing and wine-making. (and paying low level adventurers to kill rats.
The view walking out of the mine at dawn. Pretty cozy little place and starting to fill in some of the gaps.
Part of me wishes I'd spent more time researching materials, but I'm pretty happy with how the church looks from the outside.
Guard tower
I've started a guard tower on the road up the hill towards our hunting grounds. Its going to take a ton of stone bricks and clay. Last I heard Wiz took up about 100 of the 200 planks it will need too. If you can spare the time and trouble, either make the bricks, gather the clay, or take a large cart to drop materials off at the work site. If you can spare the time and trouble, feel free to add those materials to the construction itself.
Chapel
The chapel frame is up and there's a fenced graveyard next to it. There's also a brand new stone altar in the chapel (that is too heavy for me to move right now so that might slow down some interior decorating plans for a while.) Any corpses you collect from anything can be dumped into the graveyard. Take a few stone shards and make a grave stone for the corpse too. I'm not entirely sure how the direction placement on gravestones works but I guess I can figure that out later. Its not really a graveyard without stones though. As for the chapel itself, I've taken materials up to the interior for benches which I'll be making once my fine carpentry skill is up to snuff to handle them. I haven't figured out a good idea to use for the pulpit but I'll dig through the catalog and work something out. After that its lighting and decor.
Tavern
Not a ton of progress made here until I or somebody else starts collecting grass. I made a ton of beams but that is probably just enough for about half of the first floor outer walls, tops. Clay is super easy to come by but we're also using lots of it on a lot of projects so a steady stream of clay coming in from the collection site is welcome.
Any other projects in town that I've missed let me know. I'll be on tonight and late tomorrow for a bit so I'll help out where I can. Regular hunting trips and treasure hunting are always welcome to keep the larder and coffers full. We've got enough in the bank to cover the current deed boundaries, but with all of our expansion and latest projects (partly my fault) expanding our borders outwards, we'll need more than the 1s per month that we're currently paying to keep everything on the deed or to expand to cover that new claim. I'll keep everyone updated on those cost increases should they arise.
I've almost finished the basics for the Barn and a building for storing of farm materials/produce next to it for the terraced farm area. I need to finish off the fence around the barn and I need to finish the inside of the farm building with a fruit press and some other equipment I'm going to put in there for everyone to use.
Also I can now make thatched roof if anybody wishes to have that on a building.
Once I am done with the Barn and farmhouse I will immediately start work on the tavern. Having built both the Barn and farm building as timber-framed I'm pretty used to building them now.
So you need to reinforce the floor before you can plan out the building
The ground needs to be flat too.
You need dig out a perimeter around your reinforcements if its off deed
You can not level tiles next to reinforced floors
Mining out cave walls next to reinforced floors can cause the ground to go uneven, including the ground under your reinforcements Can you guess the issue here?
So if you've already reinforced the area; in order to level out the area you need to remove the reinforcements, this destroys reinforcement - massive waste of time and materials.
