Wasteland 2: Director's Cut
Running /tg/ squad with Sarah Hooker, the Deadweight Leader and designated smart person; Reed Glover, Scout and Designated Marksman; Edward Sloan, Generic Assault Guy and part-time mechanic; and Lindsay Donk, Close-Quarters Combatant.
Surprisingly effective all things considered.

Reed's a motherfucker though he keeps stealing all of Sloan's kills and seems to never miss. I've seen him get a kill on an enemy with a 6% chance to hit.
Sarah's just there to shout at people to move faster and can't aim for shit
Sloan's a great shot but he does do my head in, like when he missed a 96% chance to hit
Lindsay keeps getting friendly fired by Reed and occasionally Sloan. Might be a habit they have

good game tho i fee like ive got ship combat down to a science and only when the game sends me stupid difficult ships (ie: a fucking battleship vs my cruiser) that all of it kinda breaks down but i guess thats life eh.
also i hate how if you don't go to a doctor every single time you dock your crew is going to be bbq chicken with half health when you start a battle because literally everything on your ship breaks the fuck down until you get enough crewmembers with saves to stop people from opening the airlocks or having fights on the cafeteria or some shit like that.

Some of these people have nearly 1000 tours
At ~1.25/50 (I forgot but it's somewhere in that range) CAD per ticket, you have 4 missions to complete to get a tour - that's about $5 per tour if I'm generous with my estimates
I saw a guy with 868 tours, that's $4340 CAD spent on tickets
what the fuck

you don't need to pay to play the mode every single mission + iirc another one is free to play
but if you pay to play it you can earn exclusive items that you can sell for money
i like paying for it because i usually get something interesting and the people playing take it a little more seriously so it isnt a waste of my time

yeah I just checked there are MORE missions available in the free mode and all the paid ones are there as well
you pay to earn cosmetics and if you aren't interested in that you lose nothing by playing the free missions, so it's a win for all parties involved - valve makes money, people who want cosmetics can get them, and people who just want to play the game for free can do that with no penalty

I got that humble multiplayer bundle and installed Hover because I like games with cool movement but holy shit it's all over the place
The art style is trying to be jet set radio but it has no real cohesion and everything looks really strange
Some of the music was good and I think it was composed by the jet set radio composer
the movement mechanics are a mix of being pretty fun and atrocious - wallrunning has nearly no purpose, because unlike games like titanfall where a wall is treated as a flat surface, any kind of variation no matter how small stops your run in its tracks and causes you to plummet downwards
the writing is atrocious and takes itself far too seriously and the dialogue/hud are cluttered and nearly useless
it just makes me wish someone would make this game except, you know, good

Mostly spess. I keep picking up and putting down Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen, though. I love the game so much and have NG+ it so many times, but at this point I'm dying for a sequel. It just sucks so hard because the IP has so much potential; DD has so many RPG elements that are missing from more mainstream titles of the same genre. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we'll hear something about it at E3, but I'm sure Capcom will be announcing Devil May Cry, which I don't give a shit about.
I have the artbook that came with pre-ordering the game on Steam, and seeing the amount of content that was cut from the game honestly hurts me.

The mooncrasher DLC for Prey, self-described as hard mode for Prey. I haven't played Prey in over a year and I noticed a lot of new weapons and gameplay additions.
Traumas are apparently a thing and certain kidns o damage can cause different traumas with different effects, and require specialised and rare items to fix. On my first run as the engineer, I got ganked by a moon shark hard and stuck with the bleed condition which effectively meant I couldn't run or jump unless I wanted to lose health, which made me waste time as the typhon got stronger and ultimately led to a failed run.
The trailer's not bad for it either

Re: What are you faggots playing?
Wow, I'm actually having a lot of fun with Prey's Mooncrash DLC
You replay the same scenario with 5 different characters with wildly different abilities and access levels on the station. Difficulty and complexity slowly increases not only during a particular run, but as you unlock more elements that are randomly peppered about the station every run. The escape pod would change its location every run, necessitating a visit to the Central Crater Tower (or any security station) to get a status update on where the power outagges are, which areas have hazards this time, and weather or not the tram needs repairs on any particular area before you can use it.
The neat thing is in one particular run, you will play as each of the 5 characters one after another with the state of the station remaining persistent between each character's escape attempt. So a door being unlocked during one escape attempt would remain open for the next. However, this also means that once one character uses one method to escape, it remains unavailable for the rest. This creates an interesting, ever-changing puzzle for you to solve to reach your ultimate goal of getting all 5 characters off the base.
There is a timer that slowly ticks up that raises the typhon threat level as time goes on, so there's quite a bit of tension. It does, however, make it so that you can't enjoy the world Arkane has built as well as you might have in the base game. But there's still a lot of story and intrigue, with each successive run peeling back more and more on what happened on the station, primarily by following each character's personal questline.
Mooncrash is good. Get it if you liked the base game and don't mind a little bit of pressure.

Re: What are you faggots playing?
I've found that you're going to need the engineer character to do a lot of groundwork early on to ensure the other characters have an escape route.
Security officer has the best chance of escape due to his high health and high-damage skillset. The volunteer is a poor choice to rescue last since his low health makes him a liability against the higher tiers of typhon unless you load him up the gills with hypos before sending him out.
Also, make sure to give the volunteer EMP grenades or a Disruptor after giving him a bunch of neuromods, because the anti-typhon gates will lock him out and circumnavigating takes time and a fair amount of map knowledge.

I give everyone disrupters every run. They're so cheap and save so much time by just bypassing those gates, Typhon-ID'd or notAnonmare wrote:I've found that you're going to need the engineer character to do a lot of groundwork early on to ensure the other characters have an escape route.

The game's difficulty doesn't quite scale enough to the players' strength mid-late game, especially when they let you buy and fabricate Time.Loops at only 1500 points each. My final run essentially never progressed past Threat Level 1 because I gave everyone a Time.Loop in their loadouts.
My final run:
Engineer -> Command Tower -> Repair Portal -> Shuttle. Might be worth it to equip her with two Control Boxes to restore power in case any of them are out.
Spy (w/ Pod Key in loadout) -> Hack Portal -> Escape Pod
Security -> Mass Driver because he runs the fastest for getting those drinks, as well as the final mad dash. Enough rations and Anti-rad can be equipped at loadout for dirt cheap
Director -> Upload, as she's the only one who can
Volunteer -> Portal. He faced zero resistance as no new enemies spawned in after two other characters got through the Labs
I literally just ran through everything. 10,000 points is really all you need to start it. The characters don't need any weapons except the ones they started with, a disrupter, a jetpack (Mostly to avoid the moon shark), and a Time.Loop. My favourite amps were the ones that reduced the chance for traumas and the one that increased health and stamina regen. It took me two tries as I got fucked by Electrical Hazard RNG in the Labs the first time
It was fun, although the ending was anticlimactic. I suppose I'm just spoiled by Splatoon's DLC which had a pretty hype endgame.

Re: What are you faggots playing?
You want to use movement skills in response to enemies using skills that move your party around.
Crusader has an attack that moves him up one spot when he's in the backline, which helps a lot if you've made a front line crusader and some douchenugget enemy pushes him to the second to last spot or something

Cold Waters.
It's a Cold War era sub sim, whilst it's not a true sim like Dangerous Waters (which is on such an old engine it can't run without a mod) it does manage to be more sim than arcade with pretty in depth sonar modelling, naval tactics, and torpedoes that are real bastards to shake (most sub games you can dump a counter measure and hard rudder and the torp will either detonate on the counter measure or sail past and carry straight on going have no idea where you are. These torps though are complete gits, they will navigate around the counter measure and reacquire their lock or they will circle around until they spot you again).
It's got a fairly good persistent dynamic campaign mode (three campaigns, one mid cold war, one late cold war, and another post cold war china), you sail around the map (which looks a bit shit tbh) and doing missions command issues you.
As I said, it is persistent so any damage you take and weapons you expend stay with you until you head back to port.
The one thing I really hate about it though is that it makes a big deal about sub launched missiles being stand off weapons but you can't set up your own ambushes (the contacts on map are 'encounters') and the game will always dump you within 25kyds of the target. Which is tiny when you consider that the range of harpoon is 200kyds and a TASM is 2,000kyds.
Usually it dumps you within 10kyds so that superior american stealth tech is pretty damned pointless.

Adding on to Darkest Dungeon
Currently on Week 8 and have >35K gold and have a few level 2 adventurers in my roster. I've purged the kleptomaniacs, either through treatment or by dismissal, I sent some newbies to die/go mad in dark dungeon runs to quickly accumulate wealth, picked up Reynauld's, Dismas's and Julia's heads from the hidden rooms already too.
I focused on upgrading the asylum and maxed out the Treatment library and then the patient cells. Next, I'm gonna start upgrading the guild/weaponsmith/caravan so I can improve the quality of my newly-signed on heroes.
Would post screenshots but apparently the computer thinks I'm taking screenshots of my desktop so that's not gonna work.
Oh yeah, my Dismas is regularly doing 20+ damage with the Duelist's Advance+Point-Blank Shot+Wicked Slice technique. He even manages to oneshot the larger enemies on a good roll.

Re: What are you faggots playing?
Here's two builds I currently run:
Highwayman
Highwayman
Antiquarian
Vestal
The Highwaymen alternately use D Advance to gain Riposté and take turns using point-blank shot to chew through Front-liners, I keep Wicked Slice and Pistol Shot/Tracking Shot in reserve for those annoying enemies.
The Antiquarian's big deal is that she Uses Protect Me! on one of the Highwaymen to greatly increase the chance of triggering riposté and provide moderate buffs to the team.
Vestal's the dedicated healer, I sometimes swap her out for an Occultist if they're healing derangments/quirks.
Next build:
Crusader
Highwayman
Vestal
Occultist
Crusader uses Smite, Bulwark of Faith, Zealous Accusation and Holy Lance. Bulwark of Faith encourages enemies to go for him whilst buffing PROT in addition to raising the light level by one whole level with each use in battle.
Highwayman uses the same strategy as the other Highwaymen in the other build
Vestal has healing+light skills, using stuns and debuffs while providing a stable heal.
Occultist is the Wildcard healer and for when somebody gets seriously hurt. He also has Daemon's Pull for clearing corpses and the hex de-buffing skills for fucking with enemies.
Fairly effective build and I rarely ever take torches with it unless its a long-run since they pretty much keep the torch lit by themselves.
