Character name: Northeast Southweston
The note itself: Had a silly name, asked them to change it to something less silly. Said they would.
Time note was placed: 01:57:48
Round ID in which note was placed: 4390
Your side of the story: In the middle of the round, Aurelien asked me if I had a few minutes. Later he asked to change the name, because, I quote, it's "too long and does not fit the standards of MediumRP."
Why do you think it should be removed/reworded: Note should be deleted because Aurelien, if my memory serves me right, asked me to literally change the same nickname in places to something like to South West or West South, which will not change the meaning of the nickname at all, although from Aurelien's point of view this should change something. At the same time the Hatkar put a note for some reason, although he did not ask me about anything.

Northeast Southweston is a very silly name that obviously breaks our naming policy. I asked you to change it to something more reasonable, which you seem to have done judging by your name next round.
Ticket Logs:
I see no reason to remove the note, as what it contains what we discussed in PMs.

I respect your point, but common sense tells that it's too much to set a note for, uhm, NAME. Can you explain in detail why it breaks server policy?

Straight from https://tgstation13.org/wiki/TGMC:Rules
3. Keep a modicum of RP and separation between character and player. The server is intended to be MRP.
Rule 3 precendents: 4. Humans must have a realistic first name and last name with no honorifics attached.
5. The naming rule intends to preserve a certain degree of immersion. As a general guideline, if it wouldn't fit in a new non-comedy sci-fi work, it likely won't fit here. This is subjective and ultimately up to the discretion of the admins and lore people. Ask if in doubt to get your name approved.

Re: [note] hathkar artilljerist
It's standard procedure to note players in any ahelp. These notes aren't inherently negative, it just helps us keep track of incident history. Our administrative approach to punishments/bans is holistic and is not dependent on a note threshold. In other words, just because you have X amount of notes, that doesn't mean we're gonna ban you. We use notes to contextualize patterns of behavior in order to make judgments.artilljeristus wrote:I See. So it was you, my apologize.

As hathkar mentioned, the note contains the gist of everything you discussed in the admin sit, which is its intended purpose and does not necessarily reflect poorly on you. As such, the note will not be removed.
Thank you for your feedback.
