Make Morphs Great (not again as never were)
New Morph concept
Morph is the only solo mob traitor that is about being stealthy as much as possible. Sadly his kit doesn't give him much for offence and that what this post is about.
Morphs are advance form of mimics and as one it should hunt. As he is slow when not disguised his hunting possibility is not that great and damage it has doesn't help either.
With 20 damage Morph needs 5-6 attacks to put in crit assistant. Morphs can be also just outrun so only prey you can have is some badly injured person or person that is already in crit or dead.
Small changes
Damage increase from 20 to 30 and adding penetration: 40. Doing such change to prevent solo assistant killing him with just extinguisher and force security to use lethal guns that Morph can eat in armory.
Morph consume blood on ground like janiborg to not leave any sign of hunt.
Big changes
When being disguised as object or item and not moving for 5 seconds you next attack will deal double damage (60).
When being disguised as object or item and not moving for 5 seconds person who tries to interact with you (tries to pick you up; open you; drag you) will get automatically attacked with triple damage output (90) and hand that tried do it will be cut off.
When being disguised as ground object like vent, holopad, cable or pipe and not moving for 5 seconds person who walk over you will be automatically attacked with triple damage output (90) and one leg will be cut off.
When being disguised as something organic like human, mob or silicon like bot or borg person trying to hug you, pet you or drag you but not push you will get automatically attacked with double damage output (60) and hand will be cut off.
When being disguised as human, lizardperson, moth and any other race person trying to give you item (default "G") will be automatically attacked with triple damage output (90) and hand will be cut off.
IDs that Morph eaten will work for him to open doors.
When being disguised as object that other can walk over will make them able to walk over you. That for vent, holopad trap idea as now they will push you in this form.
All form of ambushes described above can be turn on and off.
Morph has menu with all items and people that he ate. This is just to act as Captain when you have already ate him.
When being disguised as person with ID and mindshield security glasses will show you that disguised Morph has ID and mindshield. Health HuD glasses work so why not this. After all to check if someone is Morph just shift-click him.

If someone is just stealing Ore Silo and guns then comitting suicide in SM to prevent other from getting items others will just make another Silo and Security will order guns from cargo or they won't need them.
If morph steals guns in armory it is warden fault. Also all of this seems like nothing to crewmembers who will not even call shuttle because of it and if traitor wants spend his traitor token like this it is waste of his token but he can do it.

I was thinking about this menu where Morph can change disguises and to make it as simple and functional as possible.
So menu with all the items and organisms you ate will have tabs:
-People
-Organs (and limbs)
-Materials (and ores)
-Guns
-IDs and PDAs
-Clothes (and backpacks)
-Other
Menu will only show one item of it kind even when you ate more. You ate 10 pens and menu will show only one pen.
All items that someone had will be in your menu. So if assistant you ate had wrench in backpack you will get it in menu. Better don't eat captain with disk or they will know where you are.
If that's too hard for SS13 coders there can be other way- Morph can spit out items and organisms by using his menu. Can spit out person then undress him to get his items to menu. Also great for friendly Morphs working as cargo techs or paramedics.
Problem with it will be as you undress someone and ate him again you regen health and now you have nude person in your menu.
Thinking about it menu should give you option to start digesting someone (heals 50 damage) and making murphing into it not longer available.
Now for dressing: from menu you can choose what person wears. Go to tab Clothes and you can click clothes you want your person to wear. This fixes nude Captain problem and adds nice RP- make your Captain wear wedding dress.
I would LOVE to see people know that someone is Morph but he is doing such RP that they go along with it. IT IS YOUR WEDDING, YOU JUST NEED TO GIVE YOUR FUTURE WIFE A RING and boom it was a trap all along. Your life was just a huge lie.

Morph is definitely shit right now and certainly needs changes to become decent, although these changes don't solve all my concerns with the antagonist. I left some comments on the PR, hopefully if this can get him to a good spot we can make him a regular midround antagonist for once.

It is just idea, of course it can't be added like this. It needs to be balance. I don't see it as OP as you wrote it. People just need to shift click object to see if it is safe or not. So it is really easy to counterplay those OP attacks. Don't forget that Morphs are really slow when not in disguise and fighting multiple people at the same time would be hard us if they get damage enough they will just simply run to safety.Omega_DarkPotato wrote:this seems hilariously op

I would really love to hear some ideas about people who got eaten. Stealth killers in other games are not fun for people that got killed by it.
So to make it more comfortable for dead ones there must be something that Morph can do with people he ate. But there are 2 ways:
A)dead person leaves Morph body (like after being digested) and is now working with Morph but can be killed and revived to be yourself
B)dead person leaves Morph body and is transform to something so he can't be revived to be yourself (but after Morph is killed he can be)
Problem with option A is that Morph wouldn't want to have workers as they can lose and be revived.
B would be better for Morph but it needs really good concept that people would love to play as and is not about killing. We have too many antagonists that can make fighters. Also wouldn't fit with this ambusher Morph concept.

Any traitor can just empty Ore Redemption Machine and hide all materials or just throw it to space. Are you saying that Morph is OP just because he can eat materials? Eating is part of sabotage and plan to ambush someone. Eat guns, become gun in hallway, someone wants to pick you up, he gets fucked. Seems OP right? I was thinking about the goal of Morph and got some idea from this . A Treasure Trove where Morph can hide his collection.
Goal
Morph's goal would be storing 200 diffrent items and 6 diffrent Books of Knowledge in Treasure Trove place that looks like a chest and it needs 3x3 space. When he put his 150th item the Chest closes and... I don't know Chest becomes big mimic that eats station?
But what are those Books of Knowledge?
Those will be player control Books that dependly of person job will have diffrent spells. Ah and those are made by Morph when digesting someone. Now for spells:
-Book of Knowledge: Botanist - makes Soil Plants with seeds already in it. Being nearby plants make them healthy.
-Book of Knowledge: Clown - makes slippery floor and HONK noises.
-Book of Knowledge: Mime - makes Invisible Walls (can make them faster than Mime). Doesn't have any sounds and can't talk.
-Book of Knowledge: Lawyer - makes OBJECTION that pacify everyone who hear it for 15 seconds.
-Book of Knowledge: Security Officer - choose a target to stun him for 4 seconds, have Sec HuD
-Book of Knowledge: Doctor - heals a target and ressurect (really big cooldown), have Health HuD
-Book of Knowledge: Paramedic - more move speed and lesser heal, have Health HuD
-Book of Knowledge: Chemist - makes a random pill (can be drug, healing chem or toxins). If takes it to hand he will eat it.
-Book of Knowledge: Chaplain - can smite cultists and other unholy creatures (Lings, nightmares, felinids)
-Book of Knowledge: Curator - makes a random book and have build in radio (make people angry by telling them story about Woody)
-Book of Knowledge: Assistant - can open any door even bolted one!
-Book of Knowledge: Detective - can track living beings and give damage their lungs
-Book of Knowledge: Warden - have access to all cameras and can select a target to put on them straight jacket (only one, choosing other person will free the other one from it)

Yea, I agree. I just couldn't get any better unique idea for eaten people. I really want to give so role for those who died. Morph's goal would be storing 200 diffrent items and 6 diffrent Books of Knowledge in Treasure Trove place that looks like a chest and it needs 3x3 space. When he put his 150th item the Chest closes and... I don't know Chest becomes big mimic that eats station?
But what are those Books of Knowledge?
Those will be player control Books that dependly of person job will have diffrent spells. Ah and those are made by Morph when digesting someone. Now for spells:
-Book of Knowledge: Botanist - makes Soil Plants with seeds already in it. Being nearby plants make them healthy.
-Book of Knowledge: Clown - makes slippery floor and HONK noises.
-Book of Knowledge: Mime - makes Invisible Walls (can make them faster than Mime). Doesn't have any sounds and can't talk.
-Book of Knowledge: Lawyer - makes OBJECTION that pacify everyone who hear it for 15 seconds.
-Book of Knowledge: Security Officer - choose a target to stun him for 4 seconds, have Sec HuD
-Book of Knowledge: Doctor - heals a target and ressurect (really big cooldown), have Health HuD
-Book of Knowledge: Paramedic - more move speed and lesser heal, have Health HuD
-Book of Knowledge: Chemist - makes a random pill (can be drug, healing chem or toxins). If takes it to hand he will eat it.
-Book of Knowledge: Chaplain - can smite cultists and other unholy creatures (Lings, nightmares, felinids)
-Book of Knowledge: Curator - makes a random book and have build in radio (make people angry by telling them story about Woody)
-Book of Knowledge: Assistant - can open any door even bolted one!
-Book of Knowledge: Detective - can track living beings and give damage their lungs
-Book of Knowledge: Warden - have access to all cameras and can select a target to put on them straight jacket (only one, choosing other person will free the other one from it)
-Book of Knowledge: Cook - makes a random food and can spawn a cow, goat or chicken (great if security is trying to shoot you down, nothing better than cow saving your life)
-Book of Knowledge: Bartender - makes a random drink and can select a target to make him drunk
I can make more but I need to see if this is even good idea.

Is it really? As an example, what is the mechanical benefit of allowing morphs to attack the ore silo? What do we lose by removing that?
Seems similar to slimes imo, I don't understand how a code solution isn't always preferable to a policy one.
