theres probably more games than just dark souls that are decent for having a controller for tbh
my friend keeps telling me to play fighting games with him (I wont) but having a controller does make those sorts of games a lot more decent to play than just M+KB
oddly enough ace combat is another game that's good with a controller since it lets you perform supermaneuverability tricks easier apparently

I've been playing fighting games for a long time now and I prefer keyboard over controller. For me controllers only last around 4-5 months before they start getting d-pad issues. Most people agree (I say this loosely, the fgc can't agree on anything.) that a hitbox is the best input device and that's basically a fancy keyboard. If you ever do want to play fighting games with keyboard, make sure you bind up/jump to space.

by the way, if you like dark souls/soulslikes, have you heard about/looked at "Code Vein"?
it gets derided a lot as weeb dark souls/dark souls with anime but fwiw its character creator's pretty impressive for the genre of game that it is

Dark souls remastered is actually my first souls game. I've known about the series for years but I never played it for some reason. So far I'm enjoying it and I enjoy the main "soulslike" mechanics, so I'll definitely give Code Vein a shot sometime.

When I'm fighting PvE I find it easier to bait attacks after they block my hit. For example, hit a spear hollow, wait for him to raise his spear, parry the spear. When I've tried kicking them they just backstep. it might be better in PvP but I've not tried it yet. (Wanted to get comfortable with the controls before enabling online features.)

EDIT: I'll try using the kick more, I'm probably using it wrong. Only just got to Blight Town so I've still got plenty of things to learn.

1. The guy who was adminning while underage got banned until he got older.
2. The guy who kept telling someone to send pictures of her tits to him got called an asshole, and since he was host he told everyone to go fuck themselves and left the community.
3. The guy who kept trying to keep his friend from getting blacklisted for sending me unprompted messages telling me to kill myself didn't win the next headmin election, so he left the community for /vg/ where he still seethes to this day and calls us a bunch of pedophile tranny faggots, while having ERP cybersex in a private discord filled with teenage boys pretending to be catgirls.

In non-starsector news I finally got myself a fuckin controller because i want to play xenoblade 2 on pc.

After buying "DARK SOULS™: REMASTERED" for PC I've also been thinking about buying a controller. However, I'm not 100% convinced I should. Everyone online insists that playing with mouse and keyboard is "super hard" but I'm not running into any problems. The only thing I can't do consistently is kick (Forward + m1) but the kick seems absolutely useless, so I don't care (If anyone here plays dark souls please tell me what the kick is for).

A big reason to switch to controller for soulsbornesekiroring games is omnidirectional rolling, ds1/remastered and demons souls don't have it but the later games do. Also using your offhand is way easier (blocking, dual wielding, etc.) with a controller. Aiming with a bow or binoculars is worse though, but hardly anyone plays like that enough to warrant switching over to mouse and keyboard.

Fun fact: even though we often use the accusative case with standalone copulae (exempli gratia, 'I am him'), both nouns are still subjects in agreement with each other grammatically; therefore we cannot simply substitute nor append our """object""" with 'whom' instead of 'who', breaking our typical accusative vs. nominative rule of thumb on when to use whom in a sentence. A neat example of breaking that rule would be a fun sentence like "I am him who does XYZ". We are actually using the nominative case 'who' in agreement with the accusative case 'him', which is still acting as a subject despite its case. In this situation, since 'admin' is still a subject (and doesn't have a case regardless), we need to use who, not whom.

Possibly for the best, CODE VEIN struggles with janky combat and really poor map design. The story, visuals, and general atmosphere the game provides is good though. I'm glad it's getting a sequel because it needs one to capitalize on it's good ideas. Fuck, I wanna play CODE VEIN now.

theres nothing wrong with using the guy as your pfp tho outside of like the cringeness associated with it. idk if they follow the same rules we do but just having the guy as your pfp alone isnt really expressing bigoty without taking more mental long jumps than saying the n word (which remind you is acceptable so long as its not done as a bigoted comment).

If the OP wasnt so gun ho about starting drama with this person they could have just like asked them nicely to change it if it bothered them.
