Ban reason: As a non-antagonist assistant, trespassed into atmos and retaliated after an atmos tech responded with welders after verbal attempts to get them to leave. There were some stray hits at other members of engineering, but conflict was primarily against one atmos tech, culminating in Maia detonating the high capacity welding tank in atmos, killing them both. Under RPR 2 you void the right to lethal self-defence against players if you have a poor reason to be trespassing or otherwise (which appears abundantly clear from logs and player testimonies). This note was placed while EmpressMaia was not online, if you believe this note was placed in error appeal on the forums.

Your side of the story: when the round started i was AFK then returned and saw that maintenence was EA'd. i found a plant and a gas mask and deicded to run around with them, ended up in the back atmos room where a lizard was, they immidetely said "OI" and turned on their welder to chase me with, so i said to myself (if they are already gonna turn to violence im gonna have fun with this). i ran around a bunch of tables and after they landed a few welder hits on me i started hitting them with the plant, then left to go to med. i returned later to run around some more just to mess with them since they turned to violence so quickly previously. they as before immidetely turned on their welder and chased me so i hit them and tried to leave but they cornered me with other atmos techs and a chaplain then crit me, so after an arrest i returned and exploded them with a hi cap welder tank.
Why you think you should be unbanned: while this is KINDA questionable escalation i admit. i dont think it was rule breaking. players have a right to defend their workplace but on MRP that doesnt mean immidetely turning to violence. hi capping them may have been a bit over the top but it was funny and was quickly resolved

  You are highly, highly mistaken if you think trespassing in a department and going back over and over again to harass atmos and the rest of engineering for the atrocious crime of beating you up and throwing you out while hardly saying anything is conducive to good roleplay

• Roleplay Rule 2: Escalation and roleplay
  You do not have any right to lethal self-defence if you have a poor reason to escalate. In this case, you hardly had a reason to begin with.

It baffles me that you think you could potentially have even the smallest amount of ground to stand on in this appeal. I placed this note to try and lead you away from situations like this in the future without a ban, but since you believe it was "funny" and wasn't rule breaking at all, I seem to be have been mistaken.

you had several chances to either leave this situation or disengage from the escalation that you started yourself. you ended this scenario by blowing up a high capacity welding tank and killing somebody that you improperly escalated against in the first place. you did not apply roleplay to this. you did not do your due part in trying to de-escalate this. you'd be hard pressed to have found an administrator that wouldn't have given you a day ban at the minimum for this. i do not say 'do better' as passive aggression against you, it is genuine advice. do better.
