so here's the deal, i have an assignment from one of my professors to ask my friends about their sleeping positions for part of my psychology/neurology course (we're on a sleep module right now). thing is, i dont have any friends, so i figure you guys are the next closest thing i have.

call it shitposting or whatever, but if you could do me a solid and spare me three seconds to click two buttons i'd appreciate it.

I honestly am not sure. Usually stomach or side, I think. I bought a special pillow for side-sleeping to prevent my neck from hurting, so I've been using it in hopes that'll help. So I've been at least trying to sleep on my side more of the time.

sleep at like, a 65 degree angle while bear hugging a pillow, keeps my body cool without having back pains from laying on my back
if i lay on my stomach, i have to lay my face to the side to breathe which annoys the fuck out of my neck
if i lay on my back, theres a gap between my bed and my back in the middle of my body because my beds a cheap piece of shit
if i lay directly on one of my sides, my fucking arm literally becomes a cactus
if i use one pillow to support my back while laying at a 65 degree angle, and then use another pillow and bear hug it to regulate my body tempature, its perfect
after my body heat warms up the two pillows and im not asleep, just switch them out with the two other pillows (run with 4 pillows in total)

I prefer to sleep at a ~110 degree angle, on my right side on the left side of the bed. Ideally on one fluffy pillow on top of a thin pillow. My girlfriend employs John_Oxford's strategy.

pretty much all the time I sleep on my back. for the last three years I've made the horrible (really really REALLY lazy) decision of sleeping in a chair.

I say recently because just last friday the chair I've had for years the metal plate that holds the center column to the bottom of the chair tore completely in half, and it's like an inch or so of solid metal. now I don't have any replacement chair that fits the height of my tv/computer so I've resorted to sleeping on the floor which sucks.

anyway back on topic. I sleep on my side sometimes or on my back most of the time. When I'm awake lying in bed I tend to lie on my sides then roll onto my back when I finally pass out, etc. I also sleep with at least 4 thick comforters throughout the year. I actually have more blankets than that but they aren't as warm/cozy as the main ones I use.

yeah but man it's like...there isn't enough room to turn my tv to make it comfortable enough to lay on my bed and still pc. but if I lay on the floor I have enough room to stretch my legs out, still see the tv, get the back/neck comfort of a thousand comforters folded into each other, and still be able to pc. also I have a ton of shit on my bed but again I'm too lazy to clear it all off, even then it's not cleaning all I'd do is move it to the floor where I'm sitting right now

edit : I'm amazed I don't have severe back pains

Despite back issues in general, if I sleep on a hard surface or on my somehow-perfect-for-me mattress, It's usually on my back. It's how I feel most comfy, though I do occasionally sleep on my side if I'm having trouble falling asleep. I just about cocoon myself with my bedding and cover my eyes as I can't sleep with light in my eyes unless I'm extremely fatigued.
Sleep schedule is usually
12-1am to 6am
pee
sleep till 7am
hit alarm multiple times until 7:15-20 then shower.

On weekends it's widely variable.

I go to sleep on the side, and I wake up on my side, but I have no idea what happens in between. Every night one of my pillows inevitably falls of the bed, and it pisses me off to no end. Once I actually lost both of them, for some reason.

Since it has been getting hotter recently, my sleep-self also knocks the blanket off too, and it really annoys me, because I make the bed as soon as I get up. So I have to actually work on picking up my blanket and pillows reeee.
