There's cops IRL who either don't know or choose to ignore that rubber bullets can kill so I think there is a degree of ignorance concerning them. I think this makes it easier to ding sec officers for misbehaving so they can't play ignorant when printing ammo.

It's worth noting that the "rubber bullets" we talk about in an IRL sense are massive 40mm chunks of rubber-coated metal that are designed to be fired into the legs or stomach of protestors. Cops are fucking stupid and fire them at peoples' heads, hence why they end up blinded or dead.

That being said, Fiocchi does make 12ga rubber buckshot rounds which are more similar to the ones in-game. Those are a lot less lethal unless they're intentionally shot at the head.

I like this idea because there's not really a good way to judge just how much damage these things do without actually hitting something with them. The shells themselves have combat information on them, but it's kind of misleading and this is a better, faster way to just go "Okay, maybe I use this instead of the other".

I think the more elegant way of doing it is to include the lethality of it in the examine for the item, but this isn't a bad thing. Clarity to players is never a bad thing, and I think Sinful's just REEEEing about hugbox at this point.

A bunch of other companies do, like Lightfield, and their primary use is actually as a secondary ammunition to protect yourself from and scare off large game (though they slapped a LAW ENFORCEMENT on the box to sell it to cops).The slugs will kill you, but the rubber buckshot really won't, until you reach point-blank range where they'll probablt stick into you pretty good.

Not to mention all the paperwork that happens at CentCom! The duty intern has to sign the communication directive, sending the paperwork to the legal team (if it's night time this can instead be signed by the local director of personnel). The legal team will notify the deputy regional commander who will need to verify with the duty intern that the legal team's directive matches that of the received communiqué. They'll then pass the authorisation codes to the Vice-Admiral who has the ultimate authority over the sector. The Vice-Admiral must then also verify the codes with at least two (2) of: The regional Rear-Admirals, Nanotrasen high-command or a super-majority (2/3) of the spinwards sector council. Having got this authority, verifyign the various documents and submitting them the Vice-Admiral can finally send the codes

the shotgun dart's intention is to be filled with (usually lethal) chems
also doesnt rubbershot do around 18 damage? 3 damage per pellet with 6 pellets. unless point blank is a massive multiplier
