You can view bounties at a Bounty Console. These are located in the [[Cargo Bay]] and [[Quartermaster's Office]]. The console has the option to print out a list of bounties, which is a good idea to do at round start. You can take these printouts and tape them to <s>every single airlock</s> the door to each department. Make sure people who are the only ones who can do certain bounties, such as the [[Virologist]], know what you need from them, either over comms or through a PDA message. You could also use the [[Mailroom]] to send everyone bounty papers.

Bounties are one of the primary ways for the Supply Department, as well as individual crew members, to make money. They involve a list of things CentCom wants and how much they'll give for it, sending them to CentCom, and actually redeeming both pocket money and cargo points.

How to do Bounties

You can view bounties at a Bounty Console. These are located in front of the Cargo Bay. Each crew member may see a selection of 3 random bounties depending on their department and roundstart job (the QM's, HoP's, and cargo techs' are fully random).

Completing one bounty grants a bounty cube, that Cargo has to send to CentComm through the shuttle. Once arrived, you will receive the reward of the bounty (Cargo will receive an increased amount as well). You will then be offered a new selection of bounties.

Bounty cubes on the shuttle may be scanned with an export scanner to grant a small handling tip on arrival to the one who scanned it (usually Cargo Techs).

This encompasses both Chemicals from Chemists and Drinks from the Bartender. This category is split into "Simple" and "Complex" drinks and chemicals.

Drinks

Simple Drinks pay from 600 to 1600 credits.
"CentCom is thirsty! Send a shipment of [name] to CentCom to quench the company's thirst."

Complex Drinks pay from 1600 to 3600 credits.
"CentCom is offering a reward for talented mixologists. Ship a container of [name] to claim the prize."

Chemicals

Simple Chemicals pay from 1600 to 6000 credits, and require at least 30u of the chemical.
"CentCom is in desperate need of the chemical [name]. Ship a container of it to be rewarded."

Rare Chemicals pay from 2400 to 6150 credits, and require at least 20u of the chemical.
Those usually require cooperation from multiple departments (mainly the botanist and the xenobiologist).
"CentCom is paying premium for the chemical [name]. Ship a container of it to be rewarded."

Simple Pill bounties pay 4000 to 10000 credits, but require between 1 and 60 pills, each requiring a certain amount of chemical (between 1u and 20u).

Virus bounties always ask for a virus with a certain stat. They pay anywhere from 2000 to 2800 credits. They will always ask for Resistance, Stage Speed, Stealth, or Transmissible to be from 4 to 11 or -4 to -11.

"Nanotrasen is interested in a virus with a [stat_name] stat of exactly [stat_value]. Central Command will pay handsomely for such a virus."

Tips

  • People will be more willing to help you do bounties if you let them know there will actually be something in it for them (and actually follow up when they ask for something from you or your department).
